Holon acting as a financial advisor in the sale process of Druk Pak S.A., the leading folding cartons producers for pharmaceutical industry, led to the closing of the sale to a strategic investor - Highlander Partners fund, which was acting through its portfolio company Akomex Sp. z o.o. The value of the transaction amounted to PLN 96 million.
The merger of Akomex and Druk-Pak will result in creating one of the largest consumer packaging companies in Poland with an even larger potential to effectively compete in the EU market. In the near future additional investment of the Highlander Partners in Akomex will also be used to finance the construction of a new manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, as well as adding machinery for the two existing plants of Druk-Pak’s in Aleksandrow Kujawski and Akomex’s in Starogard Gdański.
Total revenue of both companies in 2013 exceeded the level of PLN 135 million and projected revenue in 2014 will reach PLN 150 million.
Holon acted as the financial advisor in the sale process od Druk-Pak, which included preparation of the investment offer, identification of investors, transactions structuring and its final execution.

Kujawskie Zakłady Poligraficzne Druk-Pak S.A. (www.drukpak.pl) is one of the largest manufacturers of cardboard packaging in Poland. The company has been operating for 40 years and is based in Aleksandrów Kujawski in Northern Poland. The firm focuses on packaging production for Polish as well as international pharmaceutical companies. Its good manufacturing practice enabled the enterprise to become the first ISO 15378 Certified in the Polish printing industry. It was founded 10 years ago by its American principals and has 500 million for direct investments in companies operating in North America and Central Europe.
Akomex Sp. z o.o. (www.akomex.pl) founded in 1993, supplies high-quality packaging products made of corrugated and solid fiberboard to the food industry and is the leader of this market niche. The company is located in Starogard Gdański on the Polish coast. Thanks to the popularity of Polish food in Western Europe, Akomex products have successfully entered the German, French and Scandinavian markets. Three and a half years ago, the private equity fund managed by Highlander Partners, invested in Akomex as it appreciated the dynamic growth of the firm and the potential of the market in which it operates. The first tranche of the fund's investment was used for the construction of a plant and the purchase of modern machinery.
